So Sunday was brunch day. Apart from Del Italia’s first anniversary (pictures coming soon) the launch of the Imperial Palace, the new 5-star property which promises a 17th century experience of royalty happened over brunch hosted by Mr. Amir Nensey, Chairman, Royal Palms India Pvt Ltd along with Muhamed Nensey, Managing Director and Dilawar Nensey, Jt. Managing Director.

The hotel was inaugurated by guest of honor, Shri Ashok Chavan, Chief Minister of Maharashtra along Shri Gurudas Kamat, Minister of Communication & IT.

On a side note I have always wondered how Shane @ Falguni Peacock got their slightly OTT last name. (Come on it must have crossed your mind too right?) HHC ladies would you know? I mean how many “Peacocks” do you know personally? They even have a swanky website dedicated to high luxury prêt called Peacock Couture. Meanwhile a bird of a different feather is evidently out and about again. Anupama Verma broke out the animal print for the occassion, remiscent of Indian royalty engaged in their favorite pastime of Tiger hunting. I wonder if she’s trying to snag herself a prince! I’m still pretty impressed by her flawless performance on Big Boss, and apparently so was the unsuspecting Aryan Vaid!

Elder Health Care Ltd. , a leading manufacturer and marketer of self care products run by (the TV actor) Anuj Saxena (really? A bow-tie?!) launched the German cosmetic brand called ‘BeYu’ at a fashion show at Sahara Star, Mumbai last night. A range of mineral make up, lipsticks, foundations, eye shadows, mascaras, eye liners and nail enamels which all encourage 25 to 40 year old women (and perhaps some experimental men) to “Be Yourself” hence BeYu. (Ironic isn’t it?)  The press note stressed that this is a product for “the independent, broad minded woman who is confident with a mind of her own.” (This reminds me of a line from Zoolander (I think I explained why I use this movie all the time), “Do you understand that the world does not revolve around you… and your “do whatever it takes, ruin as many people’s lives… so long as you can make a name for yourself as a journalist… no matter how many friends you lose… or people you leave dead and bloodied along the way… just so long as you can make a name for yourself as a journalist… no matter how many friends you lose… or people you leave dead and bloodied and dying along the way?”)

Anyway this time the focus was on the faces (instead of the bods) of models like Anupama Verma, Fluer Xavier, Nehtra Raghuraman, Alicia Raut, Simran Kaur Mundi and Aryan Vaid (ooh I wonder how Aryan and Anupama are getting on after their Big Boss romance that the world watched unfold and which lasted just about 0.3 seconds post them being voted off the show!) The evening’s showstopper was Udita Goswami, while Anusha Dandekar sizzled through her performance (I love love love her blazing star-belted red mini dress) Spotted: Arjan Bajwa-of “Fashion” film fame, Lalit-music composer, Pervez Damania (who’s going to back at the Sahara Star hotel Mumbai tonight to launch their new Lebanese restaurant), Ronit Roy with wife Neelam, Barkha Bisht & Indraneil, Ruksar, Deepshikha, Apoorva with wife Shilpa Agnihotri and Mrinalini Sharma.
