Vogue, Strike a Prose.

Strike a Pose

I just came across a very interesting contest from the world of fashion that demands absolutely no prerequisite height, weight or hotness factor from the contestant. Interested?

Write on! (literally) since it’s Vogue’s talent contest for young Indian writers and what could be the perfect first step to a career in fashion. The contest for fashion journalism is a first of its kind initiative undertaken by Conde Nast India for young, creative writers.

How, What & When?
If you’re ready and willing, simply send in an autobiography (500 words maximum), a comment on a current fashion trend (350 words maximum) and describe a fashion designer whom you admire as if you were profiling him or her for Vogue (1,000 words maximum). You must fall between the ages of 18 to 25 years and entries will be accepted till midnight on 15th March, 2009. All applicants must be citizens of India and no previously published works will be admitted for consideration. The winner and runner up will be announced in the June issue of the magazine and apart from being published in Vogue will receive a special six-week training programme along with a cash prize of 30,000rs (the runner-up gets 5,000rs.) More info here.

The panel of judges includes Vogue India’s Editor Priya Tanna, Vogue India’s Fashion Features Director Bandana Tewari, Vogue’s Vice President & Editorial Director New Markets Anna Harvey, renowned writer Pico Iyer, multi-talented designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Senior Vice President IMG Fashion, Fern Mallis.

After all, haven’t you heard? Before it’s in fashion, it’s in Vogue.
