Some people have all the luck. I mean imagine flying to Macau to cover the IIFA Awards as part of your job! (I guess I shouldn’t complain my life is pretty awesome too but still. Macau!) So my Twitter buddy @ankitv (who describes himself as a mortal/non-chronological creature/TV presenter/dreamer/adrenaline junkie/wildlife enthusiast/amateur photographer/storyteller and is an anchor and correspondent for CNBC TV18) has very kindly let me hijack photos from his Facebook to share with you. Check it out!
P.S. Who wants to tell Aishwariya that she may have gone a tad overboard on the make up? And I lovelovelove Lara new haircut, she looks absolutely fab and pixie like. Must be love eh Dino?

Lilette Dubey (centre) & Schitra Pillai
Suchitra Pillai had quite the celebrity turn out and they all seemed pretty jazzed to watch her sing! As you know by now I’m quite the fan of Daddy’s Windsong Wednesday’s at il terrazzo (above del italia in Juhu, Mumbai.) Spotted grooving: Sushmita Sen, Gaurav Kapoor, Sandeep Chowta, Carol Gracias, Anaida, Shibani Kashyup (love her to bits but what is she wearing? She looks like a table cloth! HCC thoughts?) and Anushka Manchanda. Her up coming album is entitled Such is Life (which also works out as Suchi’s Life, cute eh?)
P.S. Lillet Dubey is directing Mahesh Datanni’s long-running production “Dance Like a Man” over supper theatre at Blue Frog this Sunday, the prime cast includes Vijay Crishna, Joy Sengupta and Suchitra Pillai.
Ashok Pandit, Mahesh Bhatt & Varon BK Sharma
Aman Varma and Varon BK Sharma
Rosa congratulating Varon
Not one to mince words Varon BK Sharma’s book the “Assassination of George Bush” is ominously tagged ‘It’s not just about killing.” The book apparently attempts to delve inside the psyche of a ‘Islamic terrorist’ and the mind of the head of a super power at the same time. The fireworks when they clash, surrounded by the US Army and Secret Service in the deserts of Arab Nations were echoed in the heated discussions between Mahesh Bhatt (looking old and seriously, and seriously old), Gul Panag, Suchitra Pillai, Shefali Shah, Nisha Jamwal, AmanVerma, and Ashok Pandit that followed at the launch at Crossword Bookstore, Mumbai yesterday.
The highlight being a somewhat heated discussion between Ashok Pandit and Gul Panag. Gul Panag said, “I am happy that people from the Bollywood industry are writing on such sensitive topics and bringing to fore the current scenario. Terrorism is rampant in our country from not only Kashmir but Naxalites, LTTE, etc are also creating havoc for our peace loving India. We should work at educating the masses and making sure that basic amenities are provided to poor people in states so that they don’t take guns in their hands to survive!”
Rosa Catalona was there too (anyone know what she does now?) I guess its true what they say about Bombay. You can break up anytime you like but you can never leave!
According to Varon BK Sharma, “My book is a true voice that is sure to affect you, disturb you and might I say, upset you and snap us out of our complacence! I am not looking at creating a controversy as it already exists staring right at us.”
DJ Suku & Swap
Rashmi Nigam & Ritik Bhasin
Forget you Cinderalla Thursday night was nowhere near over at midnight. Post all the Fashion Week drama Mumbai’s party animals headed over to Redlight for Ritik Bhasin’s birthday bash. The music was incredible with DJs Suku & Swap spinning a killer mix of hip-hop and Hindi (I’m currently loving “Jaane Kyun” and “My Desi Girl” from Dostana – remember you heard it here first this song is going to be the official NRI wedding anthem for years to come.) Spotted Swinging: Sonam Kapoor, Zaheer Khan, Anupama Verma, Riyaaz Amlani, Anushka, Ash Chandler, Rashmi Nigam, Yudhisthir Urs, Niketan Mandok & Ashish Chaudhary.
On Thursday night post show action from Fashion Week headed off to Dragon Fly where Arshiya & Rij Eappan hosted cocktails for close friends. (Her clothes by the way are super cute party chic and I’m about to go shopping.)
Looks like Suchitra Pillai called dibs and wore one right off the ramp pre-show (personally I like the version with the cool sleeves) But hang on that’s not a signature move, Queeni Dhodi did that last year stage side (looking pretty-in-pink and also pretty smug.)
